Course Overview

Managers of each department must ensure they have the relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to create innovative strategies that build their company’s competitiveness in the marketplace. The managers need to be able to manage both their own performance and that of their employees. The course is designed to enhance student’s supervisory skills and knowledge. Students develop communication skills, develop foundation knowledge of the principles of customer service, enhance workplace operations, and develop management skills.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • A written application form
  • Over 18 years old at the time of enrolment
  • Successful completion of Year 12 in Australia, or of an equivalent overseas qualification
  • Successful completion of LLN assessment

  • A Photo ID

Why should I study this course?

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team.
They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

What is the Course Structure?

This course consists of 12 units of competence, 4 units of competence which are core and 8 units of competence which are elective. Students must successfully complete all units to gain their qualification. Training delivery consists of formal structured training and assessment of the practical application of the theoretical knowledge acquired through the structure training over the duration of the training program


Fulltime: 30 tuition weeks
Part Time: up to 2 years

Assessment Method

Assessment is based on competency (the ability to demonstrate specific skills) and is undertaken through a combination which may consist of classroom observation, discussion, case studies, role plays & written assignments and the work placement.
